Fire Life/Safety Inspections

The Fire and Life Safety Inspection (FLSI) Division is a new and developing program within Riverside County Fire Department that will be implemented under a planned three phase process. On March 10, 2008, the first phase of the FLSI program began with the transfer of existing Title 19 inspections that were being conducted by the Hazard Reduction office at Perris headquarters. Those inspections included, but were not limited to, new Form 850 inspection requests and annual inspections of public schools, hospitals, jails, daycare facilities, skilled nursing facilities, etc.

The mission of the FLSI Division is to work closely with various stakeholders throughout Riverside County in maintaining and enhancing safe communities. This mission will be accomplished by conducting fire safety inspections and enforcing applicable codes and ordinances as adopted by California and Riverside County.
