7/19/23 UPDATE 12:00 PM: Effective at noon, all EVACUATION WARNINGS are lifted. Please use caution when driving in or near the area, and help keep the roadways clear for emergency vehicles.

7/17/23 UPDATE NOON: The following two evacuation ORDER zones are downgraded to evacuation WARNINGS. ZONE 1: South of Seneca Springs Road East of Highway 79 West of Manzanita Park Road North of Forest Boundary Road

7/15/23 UPDATE 12:30 p.m. Care and reception center set up for evacuees at Beaumont High School, 39139 Cherry Valley Boulevard, Beaumont. Animal Services will be at that location as well to receive small animals. Large animals can go to the San Jacinto Animal Shelter, 581 South Grand Avenue in San Jacinto. Anyone needing assistance with animal evacuations can call Riverside County Department of Animal Services. (951) 358-7387.


UPDATE 7/15/23 1100 a.m - The Evacuation ORDER area has been expanded to include the area North of the County Landfill, East of Jack Rabbit Trail, South of First Street and West of California Avenue and Highway 79 (Lambs Canyon).

An Evacuation WARNING has been put into place for the area North and West of Highway 79 (Lambs Canyon), South of First Street and East of California Avenue.


An evacuation order has been issued for a small area north of Gilman Springs Road, East of Bridge Street, West of Highway 79 (Lambs Canyon), South of and including the County Landfill. Due to the small size of the evacuation order, there aren't any displacements, a care and reception site isn't necessary.

7/19/23 UPDATE 8:00 PM The fire remains 8,283 acres and is 75% contained. All evacuation warnings were lifted at noon.

7/18/23 UPDATE 8:00 AM The fire remains 8,283 acres and is 45% contained. Our map has been updated with the areas that are evacuation ORDERS and evacuation WARNINGS. Southbound Highway 79 is re-opened as of 4:00 AM today. Road closures will remain in place on Jack Rabbit Trail, Bridge Street, California Avenue and County Landfill Road.

7/17/23 UPDATE 8:00 PM: The fire is 8,283 acres and 45% contained. Our map is updated with the areas that are evacuation ORDERS and evacuation WARNINGS. IMPORTANT NOTE: SOUTHBOUND Highway 79 will be re-opened as of 4:00 AM 7/18/23. Road closures will remain in place on Jack Rabbit Trail, Bridge Street, California Avenue and County Landfill Road.

7/17/23 UPDATE 7:00 AM: The fire is 7,950 acres and is now 35% contained. All evacuation orders and warnings remain the same.

Roads re-opened: NORTHBOUND Highway 79 between Gilman Springs and Beaumont Ave. has re-opened as of 4:00 A.M. 7/17/23. Gilman Springs between Alessandro and Lamb Canyon has re-opened as of 4:00 A.M. 7/17/23.

Roads remaining closed: SOUTHBOUND Highway 79 between California Ave. and Gilman Springs, County Landfill Road, Jack Rabbit Trail and Bridge Street between Gilman Springs and Ramona Expressway will remain closed.

7/16/23 UPDATE 9:00 PM The fire remains 7,600 acres and is now 25% contained. All evacuation orders and warnings remain the same. Road closures in the area are changing. ROAD RE-OPENING: NORTHBOUND Highway 79 between Gilman Springs and Beaumont Ave. will reopen at 4:00AM 07/17/23. Gilman Springs between Alessandro and Lamb Canyon will reopen at 4:00AM 07/17/23. ROADS REMAINING CLOSED: Southbound Highway 79 between California Ave. and Gilman Springs, County Landfill Road and Bridge Street between Gilman Springs and Ramona Expressway will remain CLOSED.

7/16/23 UPDATE 8:00 AM The fire remains 7,600 acres and is now 10% contained. All evacuation warnings and orders are remaining in place.

7/15/23 UPDATE 8:00 am Highway 79/Lamb Canyon is closed between California Avenue and Gilman Springs Road. Lamb Canyon Landfill is closed behind incident activity. Please avoid the area and help keep the roadways clear for emergency vehicles. For alternative routes, please contact CHP or CalTrans.

UPDATE 7/14/23 - 7:20 p.m - FIRIS has mapped the fire at 2,815 acres. All road closures remain in place in the area of the fire. http://linktr.ee/calfirerru

UPDATE 7/14/23 - 7:00 p.m. The fire is currently 1,500 acres and 0% contained. Additional road closure in place for Hwy 79 (Lambs Canyon) from Gilman Springs to California Ave.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a vegetation fire burning near the intersection of Alessandro Blvd and Jack Rabbit Trail, in the community of Lakeview. The fire was initially reported as 20 acres and burning with a rapid rate of spread. The fire is currently mapped at 600 acres and 0% contained. A road closure is in place on Gilman Springs from Alessandro Blvd to Highway 79 and Bridge Street from Gilman Springs Rd to Ramona Expy. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
