8/14/2022 8:00 a.m. - FINAL UPDATE - The incident has been terminated and transitioned to the landowner. Update 8/12/2022 11:36 P.M. - The Unified Incident Commanders of the Oleander Incident have determined the contents of the railcar are not an Imminent threat to travelers on Interstate 215. Both directions of Interstate 215 have been reopened, however, the Harley Knox offramps will remain closed.
Additionally, the Evacuation ORDERS east of Interstate 215 have been lifted and the Evacuation WARNING has been lifted in it's entirety. The Evacuation ORDER for the area west of Interstate 215 remains in place and the Care and Reception site at Pinacate Middle School in Perris is Open.
Update 8/12/2022 7:30 P.M. - All resources remain committed and are monitoring the railcar. All evacuation orders and warnings will remain in place. This will be the update for the evening unless significant activity warrants an update overnight.
Update 8/12/2022 1:00 P.M. - South of Avenue A, East of Day Street, North of Cajalco Expressway, and West of Heacock Avenue in the City of Perris. Evacuation Center Pinacate Middle School 1990 S A St, Perris, CA 92570.
SouthCoastAQMD inspectors are responding to the chemical release in #Perris to assist with the investigation and conduct air monitoring efforts near the rail car. #AirQuality complaints can be filed by calling 1-800-CUT-SMOG.

Update 8/12/2022 8:07 a.m.- The evacuation order and closures of both directions of Interstate 215 and the rail system, remain in place.
Update 8/12/2022 2:43 a.m.- Metrolink trains will be unable to travel through the evacuation area, this will impact Metrolink service to Perris.
CAL FIRE / Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of an unidentified leak from a railcar. Riverside County Fire Department's Hazardous Materials Team and Riverside County Environmental Health Officials are on scene working to mitigate the leak. Please check with the California Highway Patrol for road conditions www.chp.ca.gov . Interstate 215 is closed in both directions between Van Buren Boulevard to the north and Ramona Expressway/Cajalco Road to the south. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
