CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to reports of a wildland fire at 7:03 p.m. near the intersection of Nason Street and Dracaea Avenue in Moreno Valley. The first arriving engine company reported a vegetation fire burning in light grass, in a difficult to access area. The fire is currently at 15-20 acres. No injuries or evacuations.
9:50 p.m. [UPDATE] The fire is currently 40 acres.
9:54 p.m. [UPDATE] The fire is holding at 40 acres and is now 50% contained.
12:22 a.m. 7/5/24 [UPDATE] The fire is 60% contained and remains 40 acres. All road closures in the area have been lifted. The next update will be after 8 a.m. unless significant fire activity occurs.
7:30 a.m. 7/5/24 [UPDATE] CAL FIRE / Riverside County Firefighters fully contained the fire at 65 acres.
