UPDATE 05/08/24 - 10:35 A.M.: The fire remains at 36 acres and is 95% contained.

UPDATE 05/07/24 - 10:23 P.M.: The fire remains at 36 acres and is 80% contained. This is the final update of the night unless significant change occurs, and updates will continue in the morning.

UPDATE 05/07/24 - 7:50 P.M.: The fire remains at 36 acres and is 40% contained. CAL FIRE/Riverside County crews will remain on scene overnight, working on containing the fire.

UPDATE 05/07/24 - 4 P.M.: The fire is currently reported at 36 acres, 0% contained. Resources will remain committed for approximately 4-5 hours. Morongo Fire Department, Soboba Fire Department, City of Hemet Fire Department, and City of Calimesa Fire Department are assisting.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the intersection of Apache Trail and Bonita Avenue in Cabazon. The first arriving engine company reported approximately two acres of vegetation burning at a rapid rate of spread. The fire is currently 15-20 acres. No injuries have been reported. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
