Fire activity was minimal overnight, and firefighters could continue strengthening containment lines. Please use caution in the fire area as fire resources continue to work throughout the day.
7/26 Evening Update The fire remains 145 acres and containment is now at 60%.
At this time all EVACUATION WARNING have been lifted.
Ortega Highway/Highway 74 has been reopened to traffic.
Firefighters have worked diligently throughout the day to strengthen containment lines around the fire. Please continue to use caution in the area of the fire as fire resources continue to work throughout the night. The next update will be tomorrow morning unless incident activity increases.
7/26 MORNING UPDATE The fire is currently 145 acres and remains 15% contained. Fire resources will remain on the scene throughout the day, constructing a containment line in the very steep, rugged terrain.

The evacuation center was MOVED to Elsinore High School, 21800 Canyon Drive, Wildomar.
Highway 74 is closed from Grand Ave to the Orange County line.
Grand Ave is closed from Machado to Maiden Lane.
Please continue to avoid the area as fire resources work to extinguish and contain the fire.
UPDATE - 9:00 p.m. - The fire has grown to 134 acres and remains 0% contained. All evacuation orders remain in place.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire burning near the intersection of Orange Street and Macy Street in the City of Lake Elsinore. The first arriving fire resource reported 2-3 acres burning with a moderate to rapid rate of spread. The fire quickly grew to approximately 50 acres during the initial stages of the fire and was spreading toward nearby homes.
An EVACUATION ORDER was issued for the following zones: RVC-1725, RVC-1729, RVC-1800, RVC-1801, RVC-1802, LSN 1799.
A Care and Reception Center has been established at Elsinore High School, 21800 Canyon Drive, Wildomar.
