Current Situation

UPDATE 05/16/22 @9:30 a.m. - The fire remains at 46.3 acres and containment has grown to 80%. Firefighters will remain on scene through out the day mitigating hot spots and strengthening containment.

UPDATE 05/15/22 @ 6:00 p.m. - The fire is currently 46.3 acres and remains 0% contained. The forward rate of spread has been stopped. Firefighters will remain on scene working to build containment around the fire. One firefighter sustained a non-life threatening injury and has been transported by ground to a local hospital.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to multiple reports of a vegetation fire burning near Old Idyllwild Road, in Banning. The first fire resource on scene reported 20 acres of vegetation, well established in light to moderate fuels, burning with a moderate rate of spread. Air and ground resources are currently on scene of the fire. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
