UPDATE 01/21 11:00 PM All evacuation warnings have been lifted and citizens can return to their homes. Please use caution as fire crews are still in the area working. This will be the final update of the evening unless significant activity dictates otherwise.

UPDATE 01/21 8:00 PM There is now an evacuation WARNING for the following zones: RVC-177, RVC-178, RVC-179, RVC-181. South of Limonite Avenue, East of Beach Street, West of Van Buren.

Current Situation

UPDATE 1/22/25 @ 8 PM The fire is now reported 65% contained and remains 38 acres. Due to extreme weather conditions crews will continue to patrol and extinguish embers found. Firefighters will focus on mop up as winds are expected to increase significantly overnight.

UPDATE 01/22 8:00 AM The fire remains 38 acres and is now 45% contained. A day assignment continues to work on full containment.

UPDATE 01/21 11:00 PM The fire remains 38 acres and is now 40% contained. The evacuation warning area has been lifted; please drive with caution through the area as firefighters will continue working through the night. There are no injuries reported.

UPDATE 01/21 8:00 PM The fire is 38 acres and continues to burn in heavy fuels. Two water dropping helicopters are assisting with dropping water on hot spots while fire crews on the ground cutting handline to gain containment.

EVACUATION WARNINGS are in place for zones RVC-177, RVC-178, RVC-179 and RVC-181, which covers houses south of Limonite Avenue to the river bottom and between Beach Street and Van Buren Blvd.

Firefighters are on-scene of a fire burning in heavy fuels in the river bottom area. The fire is approximately 2 acres and additional engines are responding.
